POLISH FINISHES

Crème

The most classic finish. Glossy, smooth, easy to apply.

Matte

Rich, flat color. No gloss or shine whatsoever.

Suede

A matte-metallic finish with texture and and micro-glitter.

Glitter

Big, easy-to-see sparkle flakes. Glitter polish is textural, for smoother, use a top coat.

Micro-glitter

The same amount of sparkle as Glitter, but smaller flakes. Best for layering over color.

Shimmer

For nails that twinkle. A base of color and tiny flakes of shimmer mixed into one bottle.

Frost

Also known as pearlescent. Icy-toned shine, visible brush strokes.

Holographic

Tiny rainbow colored flakes in the polish. Best seen in sunlight.

Opalescent

This finish glistens like the inside of a sea shell.

Molten

Also called duochrome. Color changes between two or more hues depending on the angle of looking at it.

Metallic

Shiny, metal-looking finish. Most popular in golds, silvers, and coppers.

Crackle

A layering polish. Creates a shattered texture look when put on top of another color.

Chrome

A smooth, almost mirror-like metallic shine.

What makes Julep Nail Color so great?
Our professional chip-resistant formulation is fast drying and highly pigmented. It is a fun way to make the season’s latest shades accessible to everyone. And because we’ve tested our trend-setting toxin-free nail polish and products in over 100,000 manicures and pedicures in our parlors, we have a good idea of what works and what our clients love.

Julep nail polish is 5-free and vegan-friendly. We steer clear of formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, toluene, DBP, camphor, and animal ingredients or byproducts.

Butyl Acetate, Ethyl Acetate, BIS (Glycideoxyphenyl) Propane/Bisaminomethylnorbornane Copolymer, Nitrocellulose, Adipic Acid/Neopentyl Glycol/Trimellitic Anhydride Copolymer, Acetyl Tributyl Citrate, Isopropyl Alcohol, Stearalkonium Bentonite, Acrylates Copolymer, Styrene/Acrylates Copolymer, Aluminum Hydroxide, Red 28 (CI 45410), Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Benzophenone-1, Silica, Trimethylpentanediyl Dibenzoate, Red 22 (CI 45380), Ext Violet 2 (CI 60730), Hexanal.

  1. Start with a base coat. This protects your nails from damage and staining, and creates a smooth base for your nail polish.

  2. Apply nail polish in thin layers, and give each coat time to dry before applying the next. This helps your color dry evenly and quickly.

  3. To extend the life of your manicure, start each layer by sealing your free edges. Lightly brush nail polish across the edge and under the tip of each nail.

  4. To make your nail polish pop, apply a layer of white polish between the base coat and color.

  5. Finish with a top coat to protect your nail polish against chips. Reapply every couple of days to keep your manicure looking fresh.

We love it with...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Needs a top coat! I was so excited to get this polish. The color is beautiful and bold! But I was disappointed that after application it's DULL. It's like a mix between matte and a regular polish. After applying a high shine top coat though I was VERY pleased! I wish it wasn't dull by itself though. I wish the formula was different in that sense. Overall, I loved it after applying a top coat. It's still a fun color. Just be aware that it IS DULL by itself. Be prepared to use a top coat to make it shine.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very pretty Great, vibrant color. Yes, it does dry to a matte (almost rubberized-appearing) finish, but seriously, who does not use a top coat?? Use a top coat and it looks fine, sheesh!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from More of a satin finish I thought this polish had more of a satin finish than a matte one... but I guess I'm just splitting hairs here. The point is, it isn't glossy which surprised me when I used it for the first time. I love the finish and it's SUCH a pretty color! Wow! I got tons of complements when I wore it. This was my first bright polish in a long time and it's a fun change of pace. It does have a different smell, but I liked it. I think it kind of smells like pears..?

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Dull, but pretty I like the fuchsia color of this polish a lot.  My only disappointment was that it dried with a matte finish.  However, I discovered that if you use a clear top coat with it, it then has the shine I was expecting..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful I received this polish as an add-on to one of my boxes a while back.  It is such a pretty purple color, AND it kinda smells like grapes lol.
