POLISH FINISHES

Crème

The most classic finish. Glossy, smooth, easy to apply.

Matte

Rich, flat color. No gloss or shine whatsoever.

Suede

A matte-metallic finish with texture and and micro-glitter.

Glitter

Big, easy-to-see sparkle flakes. Glitter polish is textural, for smoother, use a top coat.

Micro-glitter

The same amount of sparkle as Glitter, but smaller flakes. Best for layering over color.

Shimmer

For nails that twinkle. A base of color and tiny flakes of shimmer mixed into one bottle.

Frost

Also known as pearlescent. Icy-toned shine, visible brush strokes.

Holographic

Tiny rainbow colored flakes in the polish. Best seen in sunlight.

Opalescent

This finish glistens like the inside of a sea shell.

Molten

Also called duochrome. Color changes between two or more hues depending on the angle of looking at it.

Metallic

Shiny, metal-looking finish. Most popular in golds, silvers, and coppers.

Crackle

A layering polish. Creates a shattered texture look when put on top of another color.

Chrome

A smooth, almost mirror-like metallic shine.

  1. Start with a base coat. This protects your nails from damage and staining, and creates a smooth base for your nail polish.

  2. Apply nail polish in thin layers, and give each coat time to dry before applying the next. This helps your color dry evenly and quickly.

  3. To extend the life of your manicure, start each layer by sealing your free edges. Lightly brush nail polish across the edge and under the tip of each nail.

  4. To make your nail polish pop, apply a layer of white polish between the base coat and color.

  5. Finish with a top coat to protect your nail polish against chips. Reapply every couple of days to keep your manicure looking fresh.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AMAZING I've heard a lot of hype about this color so I decided to purchase it and it definitely lived up to the hype. Beautiful pale yellow color that could not only be used as an accent nail with almost any other color but it looks good as a simple mani color as well. Love it

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Mine was from a bad batch? I got this colour after lusting after it for ages. A pretty light pale yellow, with from what I read, a flawless formula with great coverage? Not so much for me... My Blake firstly had a scraggly brush, which Julep was nice enough to send a replacement for. Then, after finally using it, the colour wasn't buttery and soft, but had a green-ish tinge to it. Like a blonde in chlorinated water sort of thing. AND, it took about 4 to 5 coats of it to get good coverage and it took ages to dry. Seems like mine was from a bad batch... so disappointing :(

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect yellow I have trouble with yellows but this is a great shade Its not too light or too dark too warm or too cool too bright or too pastel Great for spring

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Just barely ok The color is yellow, but does have a slightly greenish tint. The main problem is the consistency of the polish: way too watery and takes FOREVER to dry! It does stay on for a while, but was streaked a bit because I was tired of waiting for it to dry after 45 minutes. The color on the thumbs collected on one side when I was applying it on the rest of the fingers.
