8 Creative Bachelorette Party Ideas from the Stars

We can’t all jet off to Paris or Mexico for a luxurious, week-long bachelorette extravaganza full of expensive champagne and day-long spa treatments. But we CAN steal some of the stars’ best bachelorette party ideas for our own! Here are nine tips for organizing a killer bachelorette party for your favorite bride-to-be, no celebrity status required:

1. Ditch the sash for something DIY.

For her bachelorette bash in Mexico last weekend, Lauren Conrad’s pals put her in an adorable oversized gauze bow headband—a fun and original way to call attention to the bride’s special status without the standard sash or tiara.

2.  Make it a black out.

Of course, very little about Kim Kardashian’s bachelorette party could be called “relatable” to the rest of us, but we do love one idea from her night out in Paris. If you’re planning a fun night out at the bars or clubs for your bride, offer up a simple dress code on the invitation: the bride wears white, and everyone else wears black. It’s a simple and chic way call attention to the guest of honor.

3. Keep it intimate.

Organizing a massive bachelorette party with lots of guests can be a headache—and an expensive one at that. Keeping the guest list small can make things more comfortable for everyone, especially the bride—and it opens up more opportunities for unique activities, like Miranda Lambert’s outing with five close friends to the Kentucky Derby for her bachelorette party.

4. Throw a retro, grown-up tea party.

For her bachelorette bash last year, Kelly Clarkson’s pals threw her an adult tea party, complete with liquor-infused tea cocktails and lots of fun dress-up garb. Kelly’s party was at an actual tea house, but you could totally DIY this adorable idea that’s perfect for the bride who’s a little bit fancy—but still ready for some adults-only fun.

5. Go co-ed.

Gone are the days when bachelor(ette) parties had to be one-gender only. If you and your groom have a tight-knit group of male and female friends, why not let everyone celebrate together, like Aaron Paul and his wife Lauren Parsekian did for their co-ed bash in Vegas? With only one event to organize, and double the budget, you’ll have a lot more freedom to throw an epic party.

6. Toast to the bride.

Nothing will make the bride feel more special than a specialty cocktail! Create a delicious drink and give it a clever name inspired by the bride, like Eve’s friends did at her bachelorette party: “Eve’s Final Bite” (apple-flavored, we presume). You can even make custom cups or cocktail glasses as favors.

7. Keep it healthy.

If your bride prefers pilates to party buses, make it a healthy celebration like model Chrissy Tiegen did before her nuptials last year. Her gals gathered for a relaxing, refreshing retreat that included yoga, spa treatments, and cooking classes. If that sounds a little out of your price range, organize a night in of pampering for the group, complete with delicious (… and spiked?) fruit smoothies, face masks, and pedicures.

8. Kidnap her!

Starting the night with a friendly ambush is guaranteed to make any bachelorette party unforgettable—just ask Amber Tamblyn, whose Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants co-stars Blake Lively, Alexis Bledel, and America Ferrera kidnapped her and swept her off to New Orleans. But even if you just put her behind a mask and lead her into a private room at her favorite restaurant, adding the element of surprise will make the bride feel extra-special.
