We are so excited to be launching a new series on our blog called Julep Insiders. We will be profiling a few of our favorites each week and giving you a chance to get to know them!

Meet Chef Ariane

Initially known for her brand of snack foods, Rawk-n-Roll Cuisine, and its quick sprint from a girl’s idea to Whole Foods across the West Coast, Ariane Resnick is a chef on a mission: to craft food that tastes so incredible, no one knows it’s healthy.

Ariane Resnick is a private chef and nutritionist with celebrity clientele who has been featured everywhere from Star Magazine to Well + Good NYC. She is a “special diet specialist” who caters to multifaceted dietary restrictions, and is known for providing food so tasty, clients never miss what they’re missing. She is also a survivor of chronic Lyme Disease and chemical poisoning, and recovered holistically from both.

My eyes are in love with #julep eyeshadow and liner, which hold up amazingly well in the kitchen and have great herbal ingredients!

Sunday afternoon #happiness

Get to know Ariane:

What is your favorite Julep color and or product?

Impossible to choose between two: the angled brush has completely changed my morning makeup experience with its slim design and perfect angle.  Eyeliner is a breeze now!  Also, the Something Blue nail polish has been on my toes for two weeks and doesn’t have the slightest chip yet. The color is staying vibrant, it’s magical.

What book are you currently reading?

I’ve been rereading “The Tent” by Margaret Atwood.  She’s my very favorite author.

What are 3 items that you can’t live without?

A good silicon spatula, babydoll dresses, farmers market produce.

What’s on your wish list right now?

I’m dying to trade up my BlendTec for the new pro VitaMix.  BlendTec was supposed to be better, but I don’t like it at all.  I’d also love to return to NY before it’s too hot out; I had a work trip planned for this month, but it was canceled.

What are your beauty must haves?

Black eyeliner, under eye cover up, mascara.  Those three and I’m set.

What are the top 3 most worn items in your closet?

Black combat-ish boots, a baggy grey tank with “love” spelled out as compass direction letters, and a brown dress I bought at The Market NYC that looks like it should belong to an orphan in the cast of “Annie.”

Tea or coffee? What is your go-to Starbucks order?

I want to love tea, but it’s too watery.  I won’t do Starbucks ever because of their non-organic products and lack of fair trade product, but I love a good dry cappuccino.

What is your favorite vacation destination?

Anywhere warm and sunny!  Whether it’s an afternoon trip or a week, sunshine and warmth are my basic requirements.

The perfect eyeliner is truly hard to find! One that doesn’t smudge, etc. i hate getting a liner & when you start to use it, you have to use enough pressure that it pulls your eyelid, or it’s so soft you’re inthe middle of the line & the whole tip breaks off & you wind up with a mess! A great tool, but frusyrating if it’s not the ri ght one. Im anxious to see how this one stacks up! If it measures up to the other awesome products, it’ll be heavenly!! Can hardly wait!!!!

Thank you for the wonderful, seasonal makeup fashion tips. The lining technique with the new pencil will spice up my routine.

I’m a new Maven who just started a mission-based business, and being part of Julep has given me a much needed positive diversion. I’m also excited about having an easy way to keep my look current.

Looking forward to future boxes, and getting pushed out of my fashion rut more often!
