You forgot most of your makeup at home. Again. Don’t panic. Just get creative!
There are tons of products that have dual purposes, so keep cool and grab a fab multi-purpose product. These products are especially helpful for late-sleepers and those who rush to get ready in the morning. Beauty multi-taskers also give your wallet a break. Whether you are a full-time student, working professional, or on-the-go mom, these beauty solutions will save you time and money.
1. Lipgloss as cheek color
This cheat is perfect for the upcoming warm summer weather. Lipgloss can add a youthful pop of color to the cheeks, while adding a dewy glow. Jennifer Lopez is a big fan of this trick, and she always looks flawless. She dabs a little gloss over her bronzer for a sultry effect. Oh J.Lo, how we love your bronzy glow.
2. Concealer as eyelid primer
If I only have time to apply one product, it is concealer. Call me crazy, but I just feel naked without it. Concealer doubles as a dependable eye primer. It helps your eye makeup look more vivid and adhere nicely to your skin. Also, a nude or white eyeshadow can create a similar effect. Ladies with deeper skin tones, like the lovely Lupita Nyong’o, can keep their eyeshadow game on point with the help of concealer underneath, helping shadows stay on more easily and look brighter.
3. Coconut oil as almost anything
Ah yes, the holy grail of multi-purpose products. Coconut oil will change your life. This multi-tasker can be used as a makeup remover, shaving cream, deep conditioner, and for the oh-so-trendy practice of oil-pulling (swishing oil around in the mouth to improve oral health), which is a favorite habit of Gwyneth Paltrow’s. I mix coconut oil with olive oil and conditioner for a luxurious deep conditioning hair mask. Get on the coconut oil bandwagon; I promise you will not be disappointed.
4. Lotion for frizz control
Frizz is a major issue in my life. As a naturally curly-haired chica, I endure the never-ending battle with the frizzies. Most of the time I try to embrace them, but when I feel the urge to resist them, I rely on a dab of lotion. Lotion provides a fair amount of hold and frizz control, perfect for containing those rebellious flyaways. Take a cue from the frizz-free Taylor Swift, and give lotion a try.
5. Eyeliner on the lips
Calling all my bold-lipped ladies: this recommendation is for the truly adventurous. Daring colors and textures have made a huge impact on the runway, so why not recreate the trend? I personally love the turquoise trend, but you can use this trick for any color of eyeliner. Just take a cotton round soaked with alcohol and clean your eyeliner before the applying it to your lips. After that, prime your lips, fill in your lips with the eyeliner, and set with a translucent powder. Voilá! You are now the trendiest girl on the block.
