The most classic finish. Glossy, smooth, easy to apply.

Rich, flat color. No gloss or shine whatsoever.

A matte-metallic finish with texture and and micro-glitter.

Big, easy-to-see sparkle flakes. Glitter polish is textural, for smoother, use a top coat.

The same amount of sparkle as Glitter, but smaller flakes. Best for layering over color.

For nails that twinkle. A base of color and tiny flakes of shimmer mixed into one bottle.

Also known as pearlescent. Icy-toned shine, visible brush strokes.

Tiny rainbow colored flakes in the polish. Best seen in sunlight.

This finish glistens like the inside of a sea shell.

Also called duochrome. Color changes between two or more hues depending on the angle of looking at it.

Shiny, metal-looking finish. Most popular in golds, silvers, and coppers.

A layering polish. Creates a shattered texture look when put on top of another color.

A smooth, almost mirror-like metallic shine.

  1. Start with a base coat. This protects your nails from damage and staining, and creates a smooth base for your nail polish.

  2. Apply nail polish in thin layers, and give each coat time to dry before applying the next. This helps your color dry evenly and quickly.

  3. To extend the life of your manicure, start each layer by sealing your free edges. Lightly brush nail polish across the edge and under the tip of each nail.

  4. To make your nail polish pop, apply a layer of white polish between the base coat and color.

  5. Finish with a top coat to protect your nail polish against chips. Reapply every couple of days to keep your manicure looking fresh.

We love it with...

Helen - Classic with a Twist is rated 4.2963 out of 5 by 27.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Beautiful color; slightly difficult formula I received Helen in my Maven intro box, and I have worn it a few times.  It is a lovely color, with a really nice cream finish.  I really like the color saturation, strong and appealing for a pastel.  It functions wonderfully as a neutral, and it looks good on short nails (sometimes colors that are too wild look a little silly) while still intriguing the eye. As far as actually working with it goes, the formula is nice in that it is very opaque.  It is not a one-coater, but given how light it is, I was impressed with how well the color built up in two coats.  Unfortunately, this effect is somewhat cancelled out by patchiness caused by the thickness of the formula.  I do think it goes on a little thick and blobby -- maybe it is just the particular batch I have, but I consistently have a bit of a problem laying it down smoothly and evenly.  Also, once dry, it does feel a little thick on my nails -- I can tell that I have an extra layer there.  I have not tried adding polish thinner.   Nonetheless, I will still continue to wear it.  The color is worth it, and the polish looks great under Clio from the Champagne Trio.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty & classic I received the Helen polish with my first Classic with a Twist box. I don't normally wear pastels, but this color is more subtle - not neutral per se, but very versatile and pretty. The polish seemed a little thick, so I had some trouble applying it evenly across my nails. Definitely needed 2 layers to smooth it out. Very happy with the overall look though; I couldn't stop looking at my nails all week!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Unique, fun color, but a bit thick I got this in my intro box and really like it!  I usually buy deeper/brighter colors, but this pastel has enough "smoke" to it to make it a little edgy and not so "sweet."  The only thing I didn't like was the consistency - too thick to apply thin coats or get a real even application.  However, luckily I also purchased the Freedom Polymer top coat, which made it look smooth.  It also took a while to dry - maybe because it was so thick on my nails??  I'll wear it again though!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Elegant! Another reviewer described the color as elegant, and that's exactly the right word. You see so many pink and beige neutral polishes, and this is different and interesting, but still classic.  Love it! I went for 3 stars instead of 4 because the consistency is so hard to work with.  Not quite as runny as Claudette, but still thin enough to give streaky results.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Spring in a Bottle I got this as part of my first Maven box and I am SO GLAD I did!!  This is my perfect type of color.  I LOVE anything that reminds me of Spring and this is just the RIGHT COLOR!  It goes on very smooth and stays FOREVER! (at least 2 weeks on my nails)
