POLISH FINISHES

Crème

The most classic finish. Glossy, smooth, easy to apply.

Matte

Rich, flat color. No gloss or shine whatsoever.

Suede

A matte-metallic finish with texture and and micro-glitter.

Glitter

Big, easy-to-see sparkle flakes. Glitter polish is textural, for smoother, use a top coat.

Micro-glitter

The same amount of sparkle as Glitter, but smaller flakes. Best for layering over color.

Shimmer

For nails that twinkle. A base of color and tiny flakes of shimmer mixed into one bottle.

Frost

Also known as pearlescent. Icy-toned shine, visible brush strokes.

Holographic

Tiny rainbow colored flakes in the polish. Best seen in sunlight.

Opalescent

This finish glistens like the inside of a sea shell.

Molten

Also called duochrome. Color changes between two or more hues depending on the angle of looking at it.

Metallic

Shiny, metal-looking finish. Most popular in golds, silvers, and coppers.

Crackle

A layering polish. Creates a shattered texture look when put on top of another color.

Chrome

A smooth, almost mirror-like metallic shine.

What makes Julep Nail Color so great?
Our professional chip-resistant formulation is fast drying and highly pigmented. It is a fun way to make the season’s latest shades accessible to everyone. And because we’ve tested our trend-setting toxin-free nail polish and products in over 100,000 manicures and pedicures in our parlors, we have a good idea of what works and what our clients love.

Julep nail polish is 5-free and vegan-friendly. We steer clear of formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, toluene, DBP, camphor, and animal ingredients or byproducts.

Butyl Acetate, Ethyl Acetate, Nitrocellulose, Adipic Acid/Neopentyl Glycol/Trimellitic Anhydride Copolymer, Acetyl Tributyl Citrate, Isopropyl Alcohol, Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Stearalkonium Bentonite, Acrylates Copolymer, Mica, Styrene/Acrylates Copolymer, Blue 1 Lake (CI 42090), Benzophenone-1, Silica, Yellow 10 Lake (CI 47005), Trimethylpentanediyl Dibenzoate, Yellow 5 Lake (CI 19140), Hexanal, Tin Oxide.

  1. Start with a base coat. This protects your nails from damage and staining, and creates a smooth base for your nail polish.

  2. Apply nail polish in thin layers, and give each coat time to dry before applying the next. This helps your color dry evenly and quickly.

  3. To extend the life of your manicure, start each layer by sealing your free edges. Lightly brush nail polish across the edge and under the tip of each nail.

  4. To make your nail polish pop, apply a layer of white polish between the base coat and color.

  5. Finish with a top coat to protect your nail polish against chips. Reapply every couple of days to keep your manicure looking fresh.

We love it with...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Got me hooked on Julep Super pretty, bright turquoise, the gold shimmer is understated and stands out with a hint of shine in the sun or bright lighting but wears more like a crème. This could be a great alternative for people who don't like metallics but want a little something different from their polish. Amazing coverage with just one coat. A very wearable blue. I didn't have any issues with staining using my go-to base coat, American Classics Gelous.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful color This is such a beautiful color.  It reminds me of a slightly greener robin's egg blue.  It looks great contrasting against fair skin.  The gold shimmer isn't as pronounced in reality as it is in the swatch.  It's more subtle.  Overall I'm really happy with this polish and hope it comes back in stock.  Until then, it's available in the Sidekicks duo.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Gorgeous But Stains Lena is a gorgeous shade of teal The golden shimmer doesnt translate from the bottle to the nail as much as I had hoped it would but its still lovely The only problem I have with it is that after wearing it for a few days then removing it to do a new manicure it left my nails stained very badly As yes I used a good base coat Not sure how much I will wear it knowing that staining is an issue

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful but no sparkles This color looks really pretty on and I got several compliments at work today I only did one coat and it provided full coverage The only small drawback is that the sparkles dont show at all Other than that I love it I didnt have any problem with staining I use Essie base coat

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Beautiful colors, but stains I'm new to Julep, but I am happy with all products I have purchased so far. I really like this color, but it did strain my nails even over a base coat. My nails looked like I had grass stains on them after I removed this polish. The gold shimmer was not pronounced as the others stated in their reviews, but the polish did cover well.
