The most classic finish. Glossy, smooth, easy to apply.

Rich, flat color. No gloss or shine whatsoever.

A matte-metallic finish with texture and and micro-glitter.

Big, easy-to-see sparkle flakes. Glitter polish is textural, for smoother, use a top coat.

The same amount of sparkle as Glitter, but smaller flakes. Best for layering over color.

For nails that twinkle. A base of color and tiny flakes of shimmer mixed into one bottle.

Also known as pearlescent. Icy-toned shine, visible brush strokes.

Tiny rainbow colored flakes in the polish. Best seen in sunlight.

This finish glistens like the inside of a sea shell.

Also called duochrome. Color changes between two or more hues depending on the angle of looking at it.

Shiny, metal-looking finish. Most popular in golds, silvers, and coppers.

A layering polish. Creates a shattered texture look when put on top of another color.

A smooth, almost mirror-like metallic shine.

  1. Start with a base coat. This protects your nails from damage and staining, and creates a smooth base for your nail polish.

  2. Apply nail polish in thin layers, and give each coat time to dry before applying the next. This helps your color dry evenly and quickly.

  3. To extend the life of your manicure, start each layer by sealing your free edges. Lightly brush nail polish across the edge and under the tip of each nail.

  4. To make your nail polish pop, apply a layer of white polish between the base coat and color.

  5. Finish with a top coat to protect your nail polish against chips. Reapply every couple of days to keep your manicure looking fresh.

We love it with...

Lucy - It Girl is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Better Julep Colors Out There This color goes on pretty light and streaky on the first coat, and you can get full coverage (or almost full coverage) with 2 coats. Others have reported it staining their nails, however I didn't have that problem and I had my polish on for about a week. I think this was an OK color, but I would recommend Coco over this. The color is close, and Coco provides a much more vibrant, full coverage. (But if it was on sale, I would say go for it).

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wanted to like it.... :( The formula is very very thin so when applied, the polish is very thin and streaky.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good color but difficult I received this in a mystery box and I am not very thrilled with it. All of my other julep colors require two coats, I used three for this color and to reach full opaqueness I would have needed four. The color goes on unevenly and is hard to layer. Very pretty color but I'm not sure it is worth the effort.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I wanted to love it but... I really wanted to love this polish but during application it was really streaky. It took multiple coats for me to reach full coverage. I love dark colors like these but it just didn't meet my expectations of Julep polishes in regards to coverage. Still a great, dramatic color though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from OOOOOHHH So Pretty! LUV Held up to the light I thought it looked like bottled blood. :o) But when I swatched it I fell in love. This is a very classy red that has a berry tint to it. It dries to a mirror shine. I agree that first two coats are thin and streaky and it takes three coats for full opacity but I don't mind. I would rather have thin over thick and goopy any day.
