POLISH FINISHES

Crème

The most classic finish. Glossy, smooth, easy to apply.

Matte

Rich, flat color. No gloss or shine whatsoever.

Suede

A matte-metallic finish with texture and and micro-glitter.

Glitter

Big, easy-to-see sparkle flakes. Glitter polish is textural, for smoother, use a top coat.

Micro-glitter

The same amount of sparkle as Glitter, but smaller flakes. Best for layering over color.

Shimmer

For nails that twinkle. A base of color and tiny flakes of shimmer mixed into one bottle.

Frost

Also known as pearlescent. Icy-toned shine, visible brush strokes.

Holographic

Tiny rainbow colored flakes in the polish. Best seen in sunlight.

Opalescent

This finish glistens like the inside of a sea shell.

Molten

Also called duochrome. Color changes between two or more hues depending on the angle of looking at it.

Metallic

Shiny, metal-looking finish. Most popular in golds, silvers, and coppers.

Crackle

A layering polish. Creates a shattered texture look when put on top of another color.

Chrome

A smooth, almost mirror-like metallic shine.

  1. Start with a base coat. This protects your nails from damage and staining, and creates a smooth base for your nail polish.

  2. Apply nail polish in thin layers, and give each coat time to dry before applying the next. This helps your color dry evenly and quickly.

  3. To extend the life of your manicure, start each layer by sealing your free edges. Lightly brush nail polish across the edge and under the tip of each nail.

  4. To make your nail polish pop, apply a layer of white polish between the base coat and color.

  5. Finish with a top coat to protect your nail polish against chips. Reapply every couple of days to keep your manicure looking fresh.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Satin finish like whoa I got this in a mystery box & was pretty disappointed - sheer pink is SO not my color.  I am more of a saturated creme girl.  But when I tried it on, it had the most beautiful finish - pure satin sheen.  It's not my usual color, but I'll figure out some reason to wear it eventually, because it was so beautifully, subtly striking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from MY FAVORITE POLISH I got this polish in my very first maven box and it is still my absolute favorite. I AM a light pink nail polish girl at heart and this one is spectacular. It is more peach than pink with a true pearl finish. It actually changes color in different lighting because of the pearl finish. You can get away with one coat but two is better. It's an AWESOME POLISH.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Chips off quickly I'm a recent subscriber to Julep Maven and was impressed with the polished in my first box, so I ordered a mystery box. This polish was included, and I wanted to try it right away. I ended up hating the color after it dried, but others liked it so I decided to give it a couple days to grow on me. The polish was heavily chipped by day two, even with a base and top coat, and did not live up to the expectations I developed from the use of other Julep polishes. Skip this one, and go for another color.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from not what I expected While the finish is absolutely stunning, I found the color to be a little too much on the orange side and less on the pink sode for my liking. Disappointing.
