POLISH FINISHES

Crème

The most classic finish. Glossy, smooth, easy to apply.

Matte

Rich, flat color. No gloss or shine whatsoever.

Suede

A matte-metallic finish with texture and and micro-glitter.

Glitter

Big, easy-to-see sparkle flakes. Glitter polish is textural, for smoother, use a top coat.

Micro-glitter

The same amount of sparkle as Glitter, but smaller flakes. Best for layering over color.

Shimmer

For nails that twinkle. A base of color and tiny flakes of shimmer mixed into one bottle.

Frost

Also known as pearlescent. Icy-toned shine, visible brush strokes.

Holographic

Tiny rainbow colored flakes in the polish. Best seen in sunlight.

Opalescent

This finish glistens like the inside of a sea shell.

Molten

Also called duochrome. Color changes between two or more hues depending on the angle of looking at it.

Metallic

Shiny, metal-looking finish. Most popular in golds, silvers, and coppers.

Crackle

A layering polish. Creates a shattered texture look when put on top of another color.

Chrome

A smooth, almost mirror-like metallic shine.

What makes Julep Nail Polish so great?
Our professional chip-resistant formulation is fast drying and highly pigmented. It is a fun way to make the season’s latest shades accessible to everyone. And because we’ve tested our trend-setting toxin-free nail polish and products in over 100,000 manicures and pedicures in our parlors, we have a good idea of what works and what our clients love.

Julep nail polish is 5-free and vegan-friendly. We steer clear of formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, toluene, DBP, camphor, and animal ingredients or byproducts.

Butyl Acetate, Ethyl Acetate, Nitrocellulose, Adipic Acid/Neopentyl Glycol/Trimellitic Anhydride Copolymer, Acetyl Tributyl Citrate, Isopropyl Alcohol, Stearalkonium Bentonite, Acrylates Copolymer, Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Yellow 5 Lake (CI 19140), Benzophenone-1, Silica, Red 6 Lake (CI 15850), Trimethylpentanediyl Dibenzoate, Red 7 Lake (CI 15850), Black 2 (CI 77266), Hexanal.

  1. Start with a base coat. This protects your nails from damage and staining, and creates a smooth base for your nail polish.

  2. Apply nail polish in thin layers, and give each coat time to dry before applying the next. This helps your color dry evenly and quickly.

  3. To extend the life of your manicure, start each layer by sealing your free edges. Lightly brush nail polish across the edge and under the tip of each nail.

  4. To make your nail polish pop, apply a layer of white polish between the base coat and color.

  5. Finish with a top coat to protect your nail polish against chips. Reapply every couple of days to keep your manicure looking fresh.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Maybe my favorite Julep yet! I am not one to often rock reds - usually not creative enough for me - but this is somewhere between a regular red & a terracotta.  Imagine taking your regular red nailpolish and adding a touch of milky white to it.  It matches so many different outfits, and has the most brilliant shine all on its own.  I get compliments on it all the time!  It is also, in my opinion, a more "demure" option for those who don't go for colors as bold as a true red, but at the same time unique enough for us chicks who like to experiment.  Cannot recommend this enough!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty pretty color This color is just plain pretty.  It's what I would call a light terracotta, or perhaps a "burnt coral."  It is lighter on my nails that it appears on my screen.  It's very shiny, gives great coverage even with one coat (I used two) and would be luscious with a tan, although I'm wearing it in Chicago winter and it looks fabulous.  I don't usually wear medium colors, but this was not prim or old-lady.  Just pretty.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Finally a red i actually like! Was a little surprised, it came out a bit more cherry red then i was expecting from the other reviews but deffinatly not too much. A very unique color!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Surprisingly Beautiful I was kind of skeptical about this color at first but I ended up loving it. I have a medium complexion and was concerned about this color not standing out but it still did! It's a unique red/orange color that is so versatile. I've used it by itself for a simple day look and I've also paired it with Char to create a different fourth of July look. It's a fun color that looks beautiful on any complexion.
