Rated 4 out of 5 by from Mysterious and lovely I primed my nails with Take a Breather in Sheer Ivory, then swatched this color on alternating fingers. I did not use a top coat. Peggy is so hard to describe. It's alluringly smoky with a strange red glow in the shimmer, like you know it's dangerous but you're going to move closer anyway. Not sure if it's because I'm using the new base coat, but even the next day the paint felt soft, and I felt it started chipping faster than expected. I actually wonder if this effect could be achieved with Pacita and/or Tyra over a cobalt or slate color like Barb.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty, but not for me First off, I had no problem at all with staining. And the color looked pretty much exactly like the picture, which was not what I hoped for. My fault, probably. Based on the description, I thought I'd see more charcoal when I got it on. But no. I'd call it more of a rosewood. Very pretty, especially up close, but it reads frosty brown on me, which isn't as complimentary to my coloring as charcoal would have been.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Color I thought this color would be more of a maroon. It's more of a dark grey. I'm not sure what to think.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I Love This Color! I was super happy to see that it had such a gray shimmer to it. It's a gorgeous color and absolutely unique. My nails didn't get stained at all by using Julep's Oxygen Nail Treatment for a base coat. Love love!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This is your nails on Peggy The blue staining with this polish is real, see the picture. It will NOT come off. And that's with a Julep basecoat, Julep topcoat, Julep polish remover, Julep Vanish, and a vigorous scrubbing with soap and water. I'm pretty peeved at this and threw the rest of the bottle right in the trash. Julep and other companies have plenty of vibrant color pigments that do not do this to your nails. The staining problem cannot have gone unnoticed in product testing, and this polish should not have been sold.
