POLISH FINISHES

Crème

The most classic finish. Glossy, smooth, easy to apply.

Matte

Rich, flat color. No gloss or shine whatsoever.

Suede

A matte-metallic finish with texture and and micro-glitter.

Glitter

Big, easy-to-see sparkle flakes. Glitter polish is textural, for smoother, use a top coat.

Micro-glitter

The same amount of sparkle as Glitter, but smaller flakes. Best for layering over color.

Shimmer

For nails that twinkle. A base of color and tiny flakes of shimmer mixed into one bottle.

Frost

Also known as pearlescent. Icy-toned shine, visible brush strokes.

Holographic

Tiny rainbow colored flakes in the polish. Best seen in sunlight.

Opalescent

This finish glistens like the inside of a sea shell.

Molten

Also called duochrome. Color changes between two or more hues depending on the angle of looking at it.

Metallic

Shiny, metal-looking finish. Most popular in golds, silvers, and coppers.

Crackle

A layering polish. Creates a shattered texture look when put on top of another color.

Chrome

A smooth, almost mirror-like metallic shine.

What makes Julep Nail Polish so great?
Our professional chip-resistant formulation is fast drying and highly pigmented. It is a fun way to make the season’s latest shades accessible to everyone. And because we’ve tested our trend-setting toxin-free nail polish and products in over 100,000 manicures and pedicures in our parlors, we have a good idea of what works and what our clients love.

Julep nail polish is 5-free and vegan-friendly. We steer clear of formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, toluene, DBP, camphor, and animal ingredients or byproducts.

Butyl Acetate, Ethyl Acetate, Nitrocellulose, Adipic Acid/Neopentyl Glycol/Trimellitic Anhydride Copolymer, Acetyl Tributyl Citrate, Isopropyl Alcohol, Stearalkonium Bentonite, Acrylates Copolymer, Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Styrene/Acrylates Copolymer, Benzophenone-1, Silica, Yellow 10 Lake (CI 47005), Trimethylpentanediyl Dibenzoate, Yellow 5 Lake (CI 19140), Hexanal, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Coffea Robusta Seed Extract.

  1. Start with a base coat. This protects your nails from damage and staining, and creates a smooth base for your nail polish.

  2. Apply nail polish in thin layers, and give each coat time to dry before applying the next. This helps your color dry evenly and quickly.

  3. To extend the life of your manicure, start each layer by sealing your free edges. Lightly brush nail polish across the edge and under the tip of each nail.

  4. To make your nail polish pop, apply a layer of white polish between the base coat and color.

  5. Finish with a top coat to protect your nail polish against chips. Reapply every couple of days to keep your manicure looking fresh.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Bit Greener, but Still Fun! Maybe it's just my skin tone, but this polish is a wee bit more on the green side than the pictures let on. I wasn't sure about it at first, but after wearing it for a bit, it's still a fun polish to have on hand. The formula is good (only needed two coats), and it's a nice, bright polish for the summer and fall.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great Color! Not-So-Great Formula I really WANT to love this polish, because the bright, lemonade yellow is so pretty! However, this is one of the worse nail polish formulas I have ever gotten from Julep. Maybe it's that the polish has too much sheen, but this polish goes on looking really messy and gloopy - not smooth at all. And no matter how long you wait between coats, it never really dries all the way.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Vibrant color, not so great coverage This color is a much brighter yellow than it seems in the swatches, but it's very pretty, very vibrant.  My beef was with the formula.  It took three coats to get it to be opaque.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the color! I love yellow polish and this has become an easy favorite. It is a great creme polish with a great color!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great Yellow! I usually can't pull off yellow polish.  At best it can look like a highlighter leaked on my nails and at worst it can look like I have some sort of nail infection or fungus. Yuck.  This yellow is creamy, bright, and very much of a wonderful surprise.  I was a bit of a daredevil and put it on my toes first and received so many compliments that I put it on my fingernails too.  For extra snap, I layered it with Vanessa.
