The most classic finish. Glossy, smooth, easy to apply.

Rich, flat color. No gloss or shine whatsoever.

A matte-metallic finish with texture and and micro-glitter.

Big, easy-to-see sparkle flakes. Glitter polish is textural, for smoother, use a top coat.

The same amount of sparkle as Glitter, but smaller flakes. Best for layering over color.

For nails that twinkle. A base of color and tiny flakes of shimmer mixed into one bottle.

Also known as pearlescent. Icy-toned shine, visible brush strokes.

Tiny rainbow colored flakes in the polish. Best seen in sunlight.

This finish glistens like the inside of a sea shell.

Also called duochrome. Color changes between two or more hues depending on the angle of looking at it.

Shiny, metal-looking finish. Most popular in golds, silvers, and coppers.

A layering polish. Creates a shattered texture look when put on top of another color.

A smooth, almost mirror-like metallic shine.

Color description:
Garnet birthstone. Full-coverage multidimensional glitter. The January gem in our gold-capped Birthstone Collection.

Betty (Garnet for January) is a tribute to the triumphant, hilarious, universally adored Betty White, born January 17.

What it is:
Breakthrough Oxygen Technology powers this fast-drying, long-lasting nail polish to get nails healthy and more beautiful at the same time. Our proprietary 5-free, vegan-friendly formula also includes strengthening Hexanal and antioxidant green coffee extract. You'll never look at nail polish the same way again.

What it does:
  • Dries ultra fast & allows 30% more oxygen to permeate the nail bed than other nail polish
  • Reveals stronger, harder & more conditioned nails in just two weeks (reported by 95% of women in an independent trial)
  • Extends the life of your manicure or pedicure
  • Julep nail polish is 5-free and vegan-friendly. We steer clear of formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, toluene, DBP, camphor, and animal ingredients or byproducts.

Butyl Acetate, Ethyl Acetate, Nitrocellulose, Polybutylene Terephthalate, Isopropyl Alcohol, Adipic Acid/Neopentyl Glycol/Trimellitic Anhydride Copolymer, Acetyl Tributyl Citrate, Silica, N-Butyl Alcohol, Polyurethane-11, Styrene/Acrylates Copolymer, Red 7 Lake (CI 15850), Benzophenone-1, Hexanal, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Black 2 (Cl 77266), Ferric Ammonium Ferrocyanide (CI 77510), Aluminum Powder (CI 77000), Coffea Robusta Seed Extract, Yellow 5 Lake (CI 19140), Violet 2 (CI 60725).

    1. Start with a base coat. This protects your nails from damage and staining, and creates a smooth base for your nail polish.

    2. Apply nail polish in thin layers, and give each coat time to dry before applying the next. This helps your color dry evenly and quickly.

    3. To extend the life of your manicure, start each layer by sealing your free edges. Lightly brush nail polish across the edge and under the tip of each nail.

    4. To make your nail polish pop, apply a layer of white polish between the base coat and color.

    5. Finish with a top coat to protect your nail polish against chips. Reapply every couple of days to keep your manicure looking fresh.

    We love it with...

Betty - Garnet for January - Birthstone is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 20.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from My new favorite polish The color of this polish is what caught my eye. I love glitter polishes so it was an immediate buy for me.  However, I live in NC and it takes awhile for my Julep orders to get here but when it finally did and I put it on...WOW!! The color and shine are amazing! I put on 2 coats with no top coat. I like the gritty look the glitter gives but I probably will put on a top coat in the future, just to give it an extra shine.  This garnet color is amazing for January! This might be the best glitter nail polish I've ever owned and it is most certainly my favorite. If this is just January's color, I can't wait to see the others...especially August ^_^

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very pretty! Betty is a very pretty glittery polish. It wasn't so packed with glitter that it piled on in a glob, but one coat in a semi-sheer base was pretty. It took three coats to look close to the swatch on the website. It worked beautifully over a red (Cara) and plum (Evelyn) polish. This makes me excited to see how the other Birthstone polish in the collection will turn out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love, love, love!!! I've been seriously disappointed by so-called full cover glitter polishes in the past. Most were still translucent even with multiple coats or they were so clumpy that they didn't spread onto the nail smoothly. This polish is absolutely gorgeous and does not disappoint. It dries slightly darker than photographed and definitely needs a top coat for smoothness.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Pretty but clumpy Very pretty color, but the consistency of the polish was difficult to work with. I used it only once for a full set of nails (two coats), and the bottle had thickened up towards the end the way a year-old bottle of polish would. I can't help but feel that the bottle will be useless after a couple more uses.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I love it...but it has a weird odor I got mine "nail mail" yesterday and I was super stoked to use this polish, I am a January baby so Garnet is my birthstone and I am also so excited about the new birthstone line... But it was very clumpy, I just painted 1 light first coat and a thick 2nd coat and mine came out nicely, but it had a weird odor... I even painted a top coat over the top and used my Tada drop but I could still smell it on my nails, as they dried it became fainter but I can still smell it. Not that it will stop me from using it... Thank you Julep I love your products!
