Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not the best for my skin tone, but good quality. These eyeshadows have good pigmentation, aren't chalky, and go on smoothly. I notice some creasing after several hours' wear, but no worse than other eyeshadows I've used, and they would probably be fine if you used a primer underneath. However, they are a little too golden brown for my skin tone (fair with pink undertones). Someone with a tan or yellow undertones would most likely pull them off a little better. Still, I'm satisfied and will wear them now and again, probably more in the summer. To answer the other reviewer, they will go on much better and smudge less with a brush.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Pigmented Neutrals! Was very excited to try this and was not disappointed. The colors are all SO pigmented, a little goes a long way. I recommend tapping the brush to get excess off and avoid any fall out. Overall a lovely neutral palette

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Well rounded Palette I am SUPER pale and pink, with blue/green eyes.  I found there are some colors that I use, some colors I don't, at least at this time of year when I am fairly see-thru.  I may use the other colors in the summer though.  The individual trays of color are on the smaller side, but you get what you pay for.  The product goes on with ease, I use a slightly dampened brush, which keeps the powder from blowing away.  Blends very nicely, has a silky finish.  Great pigmentation.  Great neutral palette, I use with my Too Faced Natural Eyes Palette and use a white shimmer for brow highlight (that's how we pale kids roll).  The lightest color on this Palette, for people with fair skin, would be used as a contour shade, not as a base shade.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Basic Palette I like this palette as a good basic palette that is not too expensive. There are many choices out there but good ones are about $50 bucks. It is a bit messy when I am using my brush but it does not fallout on the eye. I usually reach for this palette for work since I work at a very conservative place.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love enough to need a new one! I got this palette in my Maven box awhile back, along with the gel eyeliner. While I love them both, my love of this eyeshadow palette has continued…while the "bloom is off the rose" a bit on the eyeliner, due to how fast it dries and some flaking and smudging (but I still use it when I want a dramatic look). Anyhow, back to the eyeshadow! I have A METRIC TON of Bare Minerals eyeshadows that I have collected over the years, in every color and finish you can think of. I really didn't need any more eyeshadows, but I had begun to get tired of the messy powder fallout every time I used them, as well as the need to transport several different jars of powder when I traveled. I had recently become aware of the Urban Decay Naked palettes, and I was very interested in them…but not their price! So, when I saw this palette from Julep, I decided to give it a try, as it seemed to include the elemental neutrals I wanted to be able to travel with, maybe just adding a couple of my special BM jar colors as needed. Once I received the palette, I tried applying the colors with my normal mineral makeup brushes, and found, like many others did, that these are very pigmented and yes, they still have some "fallout", but certainly not like loose mineral powders. I learned quickly to use a lighter stroke, and to tap or blow off the excess before I use these. The colors are absolutely perfect for my dark brown eyes and light golden beige skin tone; I have actually not used any of my color eye shadows since I got these, other than I think once or twice for special occasions. I can just brush on a quick coat of the Tiramisu (even just using my finger -- sometimes that works better if I just am using one color), add a dark brown pencil liner, a quick coat of mascara, and I'm done and out the door not looking overly done up, but with needed definition to my narrow eyes. If I want to punch things up a bit, I'll change out the Tiramisu to one of the middle two colors (can't remember the names right now!), and add shading with the two darkest colors. I will often use the gel eyeliner with the more contoured looks, but if I don't, I'll still use a dark brown pencil, and then go over it, both top and bottom, with the darkest brown in the palette, usually wetting the brush before I pick up the product, just as I would with a loose mineral powder to set it better over the eyeliner pencil and create an easy smoky eye. This is the first eyeshadow in decades that I've actually used far enough down in the pan that I need to order another one of these soon! Shame I can't just get the Tiramisu and the other colors I've gone through the fastest, but that would defeat the ease of having the compact (unless you could snap out individuals…oooooh, Julep? Could you make this???)
