Today we’re taking a closer look at two of our spring makeup must-haves: Julep’s brand new Glow Pore-Minimizing Blush and Bronzer. What’s in the formula, and what is the best way to apply it for a natural, glowing finish?

Here’s the inside scoop on how to get the most out of your Glow Blush and Bronzer:

What’s in the formula:

The Glow Blush and Bronzer formula is mineral-based. We love mineral makeup because its silky texture provides a natural soft focus on skin with a high color pay-off, so you can see a big difference with a small amount of product.

What makes this formula so ground-breaking is the mix of high-quality, natural ingredients that provide both short-term and long-term benefits. Not only will you see a difference as soon as you put on either the blush or bronzer, but with continued use, your skin will actually improve.

And that’s key for all of us, no matter our age. Once we hit our mid-20s, our skin begins to regenerate more slowly than it did in our teens—about twice or three times as slowly, in fact—so signs of damage and irritation last longer, making repair more important than ever.

Here’s how the Glow formula works:

Diamond powder (short-term benefit): These tiny particles diffuse light, minimizing the appearance of pores, smoothing out the appearance of imperfections, and providing a luminous glow. This micro-fine powder also exfoliates the top layer of skin ever-so-slightly, giving the beneficial vitamins and minerals a clear path to absorption.

Vitamin B6/panadoxine (long-term benefit): This nutrient has natural anti-inflammatory properties. It penetrates skin and helps with regeneration from the inside out, leading to softer, smoother skin with continuous use.

Sunflower seed and black currant seed oil (long-term benefit): Rich in omega-6 essential fatty acids, these oils easily absorb into skin and have natural reparative and anti-inflammatory benefits. They also help other antioxidants penetrate the skin better.

Green coffee bean oil (long-term benefit): This promotes skin hydration and decreases damage from UV exposure.

Tree peony root extract (long-term benefit): A game-changer in the skincare industry at the moment, tree peony root extract works to diminish the appearance of dark spots and hyper-pigmentation.

Rosehip seed oil (long-term benefit): High in retinol, antioxidants, Vitamin C, and Vitamin A, this fights hyper-pigmentation, protects against free radicals, and fights wrinkles.

How to apply:

The key to using your Glow Blush and Bronzer is to understand that a little goes a long way. Grab your blush brush or bronzer brush and follow these simple steps:

1. Softly tap your brush onto the surface of the blush or bronzer. One or two taps should be sufficient to pick up enough product. Like we said, a little Glow goes a long way!

2. Tap off the excess. Better to start with too little than too much. And these formulas are extremely buildable, so you can always add more if you need to.

3. Apply in soft, swirling motions. Because this formula is very opaque, swirling motions will give your distribution a more diffuse, natural effect.

4. Buff, buff, buff! To distribute evenly and enhance the soft, natural effect, go back with a brush that is clean or lightly dusted in finishing powder, and buff out any harsh lines or intense color to your desired finish.
